Elements: Upcoming Album Release

I’m so excited to finally share that my newest album ‘Elements’, created with the incredible harpist Oliver Wass, will be released on 29th May on Orchid Classics — my third album with the label.

This project is really special to me — it features six brand new commissions for saxophone and harp by some amazing friends and collaborators: Laura Bowler, Charlotte Harding, Yshani Perinpanayagam, Simon Rowland-Jones, Andy Scott, and David Wallace.

Elements is a collection of works inspired by the four classical elements: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. The composers — all friends and colleagues of ours — were invited to write new pieces with one of the elements as their creative starting point.

Each commission is paired with selected Baroque works, creating conversations of contrast and dialogue between old and new music. The programme follows the elemental order, with each commission framed by Baroque pieces designed to complement or challenge its character.

Alongside these new works, we’ve also explored baroque repertoire reimagined for saxophone and harp, with selected tracks featuring the brilliant cellist Leander Kippenberg.

We are deeply grateful to the composers for their extraordinary contributions and thrilled to share this new music.
