Classical Up Close: Ferio Saxophone Quartet

Classical Up Close is a new strand of concerts offering a glimpse into the breadth and richness of the classical canon in an informal setting. For these first three concerts artists will perform in the round ‘on the flat’ (not on the stage) in the main hall at St George’s, and audiences will be able to sit or stand around them, or move around if they want. Each concert will be 45 minutes long and give a snapshot of a particular element of classical music.

Ferio Saxophone Quartet’s recordings for Chandos have been met with wide critical acclaim and demonstrate the breadth and flexibility of their instruments, repertoire and collaborations. They have won many awards since forming in 2012 and can frequently be heard on BBC Radio 3 and other international broadcasters.
